Sub:       Decisions of Tournament Committee

Dear Sirs,

Please note that in the Tournament Committee Meeting held on 7^th December, 2019, following important decisions have been taken:

1)           Ranking Points have been revised as under with immediate effect:

2)           LIVE TELECAST through You Tube :  The Organisers have to bear following amounts to The Broadcaster:

i)             Tournament within Kolkata Rs. 2000/- per day + GST

ii)           Tournament outside Kolkata Rs. 2000/- + GST per day + AC 3 Tier Train/Bus fare and free Boarding & Lodging for one person.

For State Championship and Inter District Championship WBBA will bear the above cost.

3)           With immediate effect it was decided that during a calendar year (after one State Championship to next year State Championship), if a player changes his/her partner in paired events, points of both will be counted Zero in the next Tournament while deciding Ranking.

                It was also decided that unless there is any emergent situation/unavoidable circumstances, players in paired events should play with same partner in the State as well as National Ranking Tournaments for better results in National Level as also to avoid the controversy happened this year when a pair get selected in Bengal Team after playing exclusive Doubles Tournaments of the State and name of one player from this pair came in the eligible list of direct entries of BAI partnering another player of another State.   Jr. Selection Committee also suggested that same pair should play throughout the year in the State as well as National Level Tournaments.

4)        In Sub- Jr. & Jr. category Ranking / State Championship, Bengal players selected from Exclusive Singles event will be eligible for Rs. 500/- per day + One day extra towards Boarding & Lodging.  Players selected in Bengal Team after playing Exclusive Doubles Tournament in Sub – Jr. & Jr. category will be eligible for Rs. 500/- per day + One day extra towards fooding & lodging in exclusive Doubles Ranking / State Championships.  Other norms as in existence will remain same.

5)           Badminton Event of State Games under Bengal Olympic Association will be organised on 27^th & 28^th January, 2020 at SAI. to be conducted by WBBA.  It was decided that Mens Singles, Womens Singles, Mens Doubles, Womens Doubles & Mixed Doubles will be held.

It was further decided that Four (4) Top Rank Players / pairs from Sr. Ranking List, Two (2) Players / Pairs each from U-19 and U-17 Rank List will participate in the Tournament as per Rank List released after Sr. & Jr. (U-17 & U-19) State Championships, 2019.
