Dear All,

Please note that in the Finance Committee Meeting held on 29th May, 2026, following matters were discussed and decisions were taken thereto  :

1.  Affiliated units who conduct State Championships will get the entry fees for State Championships also. This decision is to facilitate the Districts to conduct State Championships also instead of only Ranking Tournaments.

After detailed discussions, it was decided that henceforth entry fees for State Championships will be given to Organising Districts to facilitate to conduct the State Championships. However, in this case, the State Championships will be named as for example “West Bengal Junior State Badminton Championship (U-17 & U-19 years age group) organised by ..................... District Badminton Association in association with West Bengal Badminton Association”. Chairman mentioned that WBBA can organise Tournaments/State Championships in the infrastructures of the affiliated units outside Kolkata with support from them, as was being done earlier. In this case Tournaments/ State Championships will be named as ......................... organised by West Bengal Badminton Association supported by .................  Association.

In view of the entry fees to be given to the Organising Districts for State Championships also, the entire matter of support for conducting Tournaments and State Championships were reviewed and finalised as under :-

2.        2.        Sri Laltu Guha mentioned that South Calcutta Badminton Association wanted to know             through a letter about used Shuttlecocks. Chairman advised Sri Laltu Guha to apprise the members about the same. Sri Laltu Guha apprised members that about 8/9 years back, it was decided that wherever any Tournament or State Championship will happen, the Shuttlecocks which are given free of cost will not be brought back after use.  Chairman and other members mentioned that the same system should follow.

3.       Entry fees are to be deposited to the Organising Districts’ Bank account by the affiliated units. If Players send any entry fee directly to the Organisers account, the same will be forfeited, as was decided earlier. However, sometimes some affiliated units by mistake send the entry fees to the WBBA’s account. It was decided that in such cases the amount thus remitted may be sent back to the District concerned on receipt of a request letter.

Thanking you,
